Samarkand Rugs

Samarkand rugs are handwoven by women from the Uzbek tribes (ethnic groups affiliated with present-day Uzbekistan ) located in the city of Samarkand. These  rugs are one of the richest textile traditions in the world and their fine texture make them very prized.
